Michael Lynn Ryan

Michael L. Ryan, 85, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021. Mike was the son of the late Lowell and June (Bissell) Ryan. He was born in Cuero, Texas, and is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He was a 35 year member of the Germania Singing & Sport Society, where he sang in the choir, enjoyed a beer or two, and loved dancing. He belonged to the Corvette Club, where he met his first wife, Arlene, and they participated in road rallies together in his 1963 Stingray Corvette. He also belonged to Glenwood United Methodist Church, the “R” club, Road Rally club, participated in Boy Scouts of America, and was a proud West High School Wesket Dad. He enjoyed tent camping with his family, and travelled the U.S. camping in many State & National Parks. He took up skiing and ballroom dancing in his 60s, and met second wife Barbara at the ballroom dances. Mike is survived by his loving family: son, Brian and daughter, Teri (Stephanie); Grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy, Jason and Karolyn; several great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene in 1998 and second wife, Barbara in 2014; his brother, Timothy; and grandson Jacob Ryan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Germania Singing & Sport Society, 543 S. Front Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio. The Hoskinson Funeral Home in Kirkersville is honored to care for the Ryan family.
