Michael Yost

Funeral Services, celebrating the life of Michael Yost, 56, of Hebron, will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the New Life United Methodist Church, Hebron, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Michael died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in Newark, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Newark on January 20, 1962, the son of Robert G. and Opal R. (Gooden) Yost. Mike was a graduate of Newark H.S., class of 1980, and worked throughout his life as a self-employed painter. He also was a firefighter for Hebron and Heath for 28 years. Mike was a jokester, loved laughing and having a good time. He enjoyed scouting and attained the rank of Eagle Scout, all sports but especially wrestling and he enjoyed helping others. He had made four mission trips with Samaritans Purse and was an active member at Hebron New Life United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving family: wife Kristina (Maxwell), whom he married on April 20, 1991, his father and step-mother Robert and Mary Yost; his children Amanda, Jacob, Josh and Catie (Drew Wilson) Yost; his siblings Robert (Stephanie) Yost and Marilyn (Ty) Brust; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville.
