"Mike" John Michael Winterrowd

John Michael “Mike” Winterrowd, age 76, of Thornville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Mike was born January 18, 1948 in Shelbyville, Indiana to the late Thomas Shaw Winterrowd and the late Cynthia Doris (McGrew) Winterrowd.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Mike faithfully served his country during Vietnam. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Franklin University and was employed in appliance sales. Mike was a member of the Thornport Amvets, as well as the Thornville American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed boating, his hotrod car, tinkering in his shop, and watching sports, especially OSU football and Nascar.

He is survived by his sister, Ann Mattiaccy of Hilliard; brother, Thomas Aaron Winterrowd (Leslee Heitz) of Edinburgh, Indiana; girlfriend of 22 years, Wanda Williams of Thornville; son, Joshua Winterrowd of Glens Falls, New York; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held from 12-3 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, at the Thornport Amvets, 9293 Township Road 79 in Thornville.
