Mildred C. Olive

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mildred C. Olive, 87 of Newark, will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Steve Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Thursday, June 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mildred was born in Alexandria, Ohio on January 11, 1935 to the late Ephraim and Sarah (McMannis) Ellis. She passed at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio on June 17, 2022. Prior to retirement, Mildred was a cashier with Big Bear for over 30 years and she also worked for IGA for three years. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, crafting and going to the casinos and playing the slot machines. Most important to her was the time she spent with loving family and friends. Survivors include her sons, Brenton (Sue) Lane and Robert E. (Ann) Olive; grandchildren, Sarah Lane and Brent Lane, Jr.; great grandchildren, Zaine Lane and Ferrin Lane; sister, Melba Kintz; two great great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband of 47 years, Robert S. Olive; and numerous brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mildred to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
