Minnie Lee Fuchs

July 31, 1941 — February 16, 2021

A funeral service celebrating the life of Minnie Lee (Mitchell) Carter Fuchs, age 79, of Pataskala, will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. The family will receive friends from 3:30-4 p.m. prior to the service. Please come to give your condolences and help the family as they say goodbye.

Minnie passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021 of complications of COPD after emergency surgery. She was born July 31, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late George Napolean and Martha Dulcinnie (Bruner) Mitchell.

Minnie was the youngest daughter of six siblings and is survived by her older sister Anne Fawcett of Fountain Valley, California and her younger brother George Mitchell of Huntley, Illinois. She was the widow of Jerry Fuchs.

Minnie married Thomas Edgar Carter (now deceased) in 1958 and they had three children. They were: Sharon Lee Carter Lantz (Bob, now deceased) of Pataskala, Karen Elizabeth Carter Lamprecht (Mike), and Thomas Harvey Carter (now deceased). She was the very proud grandmother of Joshua Lantz, Kevin Lantz and Rebecca (Lantz) Hendershot (Jesse). She was the super proud great grandmother of 9 and too many nieces and nephews to count! She was a loving grandma and adored all her family. She had moved to Ohio from Tennessee to live with her daughter Sharon and to be near her grandkids and great grandkids.

Minnie was a Christian and loved her Lord. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, Tennessee and was known for her kindness, love for others, and fantastic baked goods at the church get togethers. She had an infectious sense of humor and enjoyed life, all who knew her loved her.

As the COPD progressed and hindered her, she never complained but often told her family to never smoke unless you liked the idea of living with some hard consequences. (I suspect we would be wise to listen to her). She loved football, Nascar, and people. She was a die-hard Alabama fan, but conceded to rooting for the Buckeyes as long as they weren’t playing Alabama.

Minnie had a full life as a mother, business owner (Carter’s Restaurant), and worker in retail and manufacturing.

There will also be a service to honor Minnie that will be held in Milan, Tennessee when weather permits. She will be buried next to her husband Jerry Fuchs in the Gibson County Memory Gardens in Humboldt, Tennessee.

Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service in Kirkersville is honored to care for Minnie and her family.
