A funeral service, celebrating the life of Mona J Hanby Weaver, 73, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 11 :00 A.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Thornville home of The HOSKINSON-Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service, with burial to follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery, Thornville.Mona died Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Newark following a brief illness. She was born in Thornville on July 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Clifford W and Evalene E (Brunney) Hanby. She attended Thornville H.S., and was a member of Buckeye Lake Aerie #2801 Eagles Auxillary.She is survived by her children Charles E (Tricia) Watkins of Lancaster, Brenda (Jerry) Scott of Heath, Sandra Shumaker of Sugar Grove and Tina (John) Taylor of Logan; along with 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, half-sister Joyce (Gene) Wollenberg of New Lexington; along with many nieces and nephews, and her special friend James Wilson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Duncan; sisters Ilene, Lucille and Marilyn, half-sister Mary Floyd and her brother Robert.Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of the funeral service at the funeral home, 56 S Main St in Thornville, where an on-line guest register is available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com.The family prefers that memorials be directed to the James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University.
