MSG Timothy Dean Martin, age 57, of Newark, OH passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, OH due to the complications of Covid.

Tim was born August 9, 1963 in Toledo, Ohio to the late John Joe and Lillie Mae (Andrews) Martin. He retired from the military with almost 34 years of service between the US Army & the US Army Reserve. He was a Postmaster for the USPS in Blacklick OH.

Tim could be found most Saturdays playing craps as he and his wife visited casinos from Canada to Curacao and at least a dozen states in between. He also enjoyed cruising, hunting, fishing, magic, cooking, playing guitar and playing games with his family like dice, dominos and cards. He also liked to travel and leaves his family with many great vacation memories. Tim was a Dallas Cowboys fan and although born a Buckeye he was a Wolverine.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Martin; nephew, Aaron Martin; and brother- in-law, Charles Carter.

Tim is survived by his siblings, Barbara Carter, Priscilla (David) Ramsey, John (Rose) Martin, Linda (Robert) Slusarski, Deborah Martin and sister-in-law, Susan Martin; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Tim is also survived by his loving wife, Paula Sue (Suchevits) Martin, whom he married December 10, 1999; four children, James, Carley, Paul and Brandon; grandchildren and lights of his life, Zavier, Ariahn, Gavin, Audrianna and Genevieve. Others special in his life include Stephanie, Allison, Bekka, Nevaeh, Teresa, Bernie, Barb, Rick W, Rick F, Steve, Ken, Harry, Rasmus, Tommy, Mike and many other friends through the Army and Post Office. Tim had a playful heart, was easy going and a stand-up guy and he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

The family request that donations be made to VFW Post 1060, 469 Forry St., Newark, OH 43055 in memory of MSG Timothy Martin. With LAURELS in the memo line to help veterans without families at the holidays.

Military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, at Cedar Hill Cemetery Veterans Section, 275 N. Cedar St., Newark OH 43055 for those wishing to attend.
