Nancy Christine Bowen

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Nancy Christine Bowen, 72, of Glenford, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of the funeral services at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Nancy passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Mason, West Virginia, on October 11, 1948, the daughter of the late John and Shirley (Rupe) Swartz.

A lifelong home maker, she enjoyed taking care of Fred and her family. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage, and enjoyed Indian culture. She also loved dogs, and was fond of her current canine companions Buddy, Lola and Angel.

She is survived by her loving family: husband Fred, children Neil of Glenford, Wayne (Jennifer) of Virginia, Jason of Glenford, Fred Jr. of Minnesota and Katie (George) Hoover of Beallsville; her brothers Bill (Karen) Swartz, Dale Swartz, Bob (Lois) Swartz, Tom Swartz and Rick (Cheryl) Swartz; and her 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Swartz.

The family prefers that memorial contributions in Nancy’s memory be directed to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
