Private Funeral services for Nancy Lou Hoover, 85, of Thornville, will occur at the Thornville Home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with burial to follow in the Barnes Cemetery in Licking County. Nancy passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2020, in Newark, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Zanesville, on December 31, 1934, the daughter of the late Robert and Clara (Davis) Mattox. She was an assembler at the Western Electric plant in Columbus for many years, and also worked for Value City in her retirement. She loved paint by numbers, playing bingo, all things Chuck Norris; as well as attending Seventh Day Adventist Bible Study. She is survived by her loving family: daughters Pamala Fair, Teresa Stone and Denise Robinson; step son Lee Hoover; brother Donald Mattox; her grandchildren Michael, Jason, Sloane, Brock, Lakia, LeighAnn, Corey, Todd, Ryan, Misty, Mindy and David; and her many loving great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hoover in 1997, her longtime companion Herb West in 2018; Daughter and Son Debbie and Robert VanDyne; along with her pets Gizmo, Duffy and Missy.
