Nancy Whelan

View Nancy's Tribute Video Nancy Whelan, 63, of Newark, passed away on October 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Marion, Ohio on November 1, 1957 to the late Joseph and Margaret (Maguire) Whelan. Prior to retirement, Nancy was a school teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, running and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Dan Layman and Maggie (Ryan) McCabe; brothers and sisters, Michele (Thomas) Norton, Joe (Henri) Whelan, Jim Whelan, Trish (Bill) Dennison, John (Ann) Whelan and Lisa McDaniel; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John McDaniel; and sister-in-law, Anne Whelan. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nancy to Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark, Ohio.
