Naomi Schoonover

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Naomi Lucille Schoonover, 87, of Pataskala, will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Grove City Cemetery.Naomi passed peacefully on December 30, 2017, following a brief illness. She was born in Rutland, Ohio on December 24, 1930, the daughter of the late William Gerald and Garnet Lovera (Clark) Graham. From the age of 8, she was raised by her step-mother Goldie Graham.Naomi worked for 20 years at the Dobson-Evans Paper Company. She enjoyed traveling, eating out, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and going to the casino.She is survived by her loving family: her only daughter Connie Hitchings; her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister Wanda (Bud) Vining and a brother James (Tish) Graham; along with several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Miriam Varner.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Jake Schoonover in 1977, her brother William Joseph Graham, her sister Bessie Bennett and her son-in-law Harry Hitchings.The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.Memorials may be directed to the Palliative Care at Mount Carmel Health.
