Nathaniel Delbert Groves

Nathaniel “Nattie” D. Groves, Kirkersville, (Formerly of Heath) passed away February 7, 2022 at the age of 87. Born February 11, 1934 in Somerton, Ohio to the late John and Geraldine Groves.

Survived by his loving wife, Edna Mae (Kirkbride) Groves and his four children: Debbie (Mike) Miller, Ray Groves, Doug (Teresa) Groves, Kent (Tracy) Groves; his brother John (Judy) Groves; his six amazing grandchildren and seven wonderful great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Roger Groves.

He was a graduate of Beallsville High School, class of 1952.

Owner of Heath Carpet Sales from 1964 to 1979, Retired from CRS Carpets in Kirkersville.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Looked forward every year to making home made ice cream on the 4 ^th of July, and Christmas Eve with the family.

He coached little league baseball for many years in Heath (Favorite team to coach were the boys on the Kaiser Aluminum team). He enjoyed attending major league baseball and football games with his sons and grandchildren. Favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians. He and Edna enjoyed traveling in their RV to many different states, boating on Lake Erie and numerous fishing trips with his friends and family. He was a member of the Southgate Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation service, 285 East Main St in Kirkersville. Burial will follow in the Newark Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to Southgate Church of Christ, (Food Pantry- Helping local families in need) 1075 South 30 ^th St, Heath, Ohio 43056. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
