Nelva Marie Householder

A funeral service celebrating the life of Nelva Marie Householder, age 79, of Pataskala, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Nelva was born January 12, 1939 in Byesville, Ohio to the late James Edward and Elva Irene (Hayes) Brown. She passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital.

Nelva was an active member of the American Legion Post #283 Auxiliary in Pickerington and was a life member of the VFW #1388 Auxiliary in Buckeye Lake. She was baptized at the First United Methodist Church in Pataskala. Nelva was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking and running the concession stand at Pickerington High School and also cooked at the American Legion, where she participated in making memorial wreaths.

She is survived by her husband, Henry W. Householder; son, Henry E. “Bud” (Rachel) Householder of North Canton; grandchildren, Coby and Jocie Householder; step-daughters, Leann Phelps and Tammy Search; three step- grandchildren; sisters, Rita LaPradd, Kathy Yerian and Marsha Wickham; nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Audrey Cunningham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Brown; and her step-mother, Elizabeth Brown.
