Nettie Rosetta Rose Heightshoe, 88, of Newark passed away on June 3, 2018, with her loving family by her side, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on September 6, 1929 to the late David and Nettie (Baker Woods) Staffey. The gates of Heaven opened for Rose to come home. Her room was ready. Rose, spread your wings. Prior to retirement, Rose was a home healthcare worker and also a waitress for many years. She was a member of the Newark Moose Lodge and the Senior Citizens Club. Rosie was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed reading, fishing, dancing, crafting, bus tours, ceramics, and watching the Ohio State Buckeye football games on TV with her friends. Nettie (Rose) was selfless, with a kind and always a giving heart, enjoyed helping others and loved spending time with her family and friends. Rose is loved dearly, will forever be missed and remembered. Rose showed strength in never complaining of what she didnt have, and appreciated what she did have. Survivors include her siblings, Evelyn Smith, Richard (Jan) Woods and Jeannie Stansberry; half-sister, Mary Staffey; special friend of the family, Linda Heckett; half-brother, Ralph (Libby) Staffey; step brother, Sam (Wanda) Staffey; step-son, Edward Walpole; nieces and nephew, Tammy (Brian) Cooper, Nola Barnes, Lisa (Thomas) Smith and Steven Stansberry; and niece, Teresa (Rick), who was her devoted caregiver and was by her side; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bud Snyder; companion of 23 years, Ronald Runt Walpole; infant niece, Lori Ann Smith; brother-in-law, Russell Smith; nephew, Wayne Barnes; half-brothers, Chester, Donnie, Ronnie; half-sister, Jane; step-father, Sam Staffey; and step-sister, Becky Galligher.
