Niles Bush

A memorial service will be held at a later date for Niles G. Bush, Sr., age 75, of Newark, formerly of Newcomb, New York, in the heart of the Adirondacks. Niles passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home. He was born October 16, 1938 in Lowville, New York to the late Eugene and Mildred (Towig) Bush.Niles retired from the town of Newcomb, New York. Prior to that, he had been employed with the National Lead Co. for 30 years. An avid baseball fan, Niles was an excellent baseball player and had tried out for the Brooklyn Dodgers.He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. (Charleson) Bush, whom he married April 20, 2000; children, Laura (Mark) Miller of Newcomb, NY, Sherri (Jim) Thompson of Hudson Falls, NY, Julie (Clarence) Bowman of Placerville, CA, Niles G. (Beth) Bush, Jr. of Fort Ann, NY, and Philip (Cheri) Bush of Newcomb, NY; step-children, James M. Garner of Newark, OH, David P. (Sheila) Garner of Ontario, OH and Daniel L. (Kendra) Garner of Newark, OH; twenty-one grandchildren; sisters, Carol Perry of Tribes Hill, NY and Joanne Abare of Oswego, NY; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.Arrangements have been entrusted to Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
