Nona K. Smathers

A visitation for Nona K. Smathers, 49, of Glenford, will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Nona was born in Charleston, West Virginia on October 29, 1972, and was raised by her maternal grandparents, the late Guy William and Jewell Gray. She passed away at her residence on February 8, 2022. Nona was a registered nurse, working at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center for many years. Most important in her life was the time she spent with her loving family, especially doting on her grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, James L. Smathers, whom she married January 3, 1992; two sons, James William Smathers and Brandon James Smathers; daughter, Alyssa Smathers; two grandchildren, Laurence William Smathers and Jewel Dawn Smathers. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nona to Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
