A funeral service, celebrating the life of Norma Jean Pillow, 83, of Racine, formerly of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in the chapel of the Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville, with her nephew, Pastor Randy Clay as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg.Norma died Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Sissonville, West Virginia, following an extended illness. She was born in Buckeye Lake on December 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Sherman and Mary (Griffith) Clay. A graduate of Hebron H.S., class of 1951, where she was Fall Festival Queen. She was a devoted wife, mother and loved spending time with her family. She married Melvin R Pillow on December 17, 1955, in Pataskala, and lived most of her life in Buckeye Lake.She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Mike) Davis of Racine, grandson Jacob Pillow, her sisters Julia Schmeitzel and Mary Dill, sister-in-law Evelyn Clay and many nieces and nephews. Her devoted canine companion, Lilly, also survives.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Russell Brownie Pillow, her daughter Darla Blade and her brother Sherman Clay.Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the services at the funeral home, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville.HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville is honored to care for Norma Jean and the Pillow family.
