A funeral service, celebrating the life of Norris Frank Peters, 61, of Hebron, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in the chapel of the Hebron home of HOSKINSON Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Private family burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery. Norris died Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Cambridge, following an extended illness. He was born in Heltonville, Indiana, on April 21, 1952, the son of the late Norris and Phyllis (Corsi) Peters. He was a dedicated Military man, serving for 20 years in the US Army, then US Army Reserve and the Army as a civilian employee. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, loved being in the outdoors, and always had time to tell a good joke. He is survived by his loving family: his wife Sandra, children Shanna (Kris) Lasure and Matthew Peters, grandchildren Zachary Lasure, AJ & Alex Peters and Shalee Lasure, his brothers and sisters Joseph (Ta) Peters, Rose Lindsey, Tom (Laurel) Peters, Teresa (Dennis) Cramer, Lisa (Jeff) Tipple and Nathan (Kristen) Peters; step-mother June Peters, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jay Lindsey and in-laws Earl & Maymie McCullough. Friends may call at the Funeral Home, 108 N 7th Street in Hebron, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family prefers that memorials in his memory be directed to the wounded warrior project.
