Olive Lorraine Tharp

  Though her time on Earth with us was short, Olive made an incredible impact on the world. In her small life, she battled many illnesses yet survived and thrived through 22 hospital stays, 126 days in the hospital including the NICU and conquering open heart surgery.  Our brave, happy girl was a fighter to the very end.  Olive touched the lives of everyone who met her.  She loved to dance, clap, and scale the furniture in search of toys or loving arms or shoes.  There was never a shoe met, that our silly girl didn't want to try to eat.  She leaves us all smiling through our tears.   We love you forever We like you for always As long as we’re living Our baby you’ll be   A funeral service celebrating the life of Olive Lorraine Tharp, age 3, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Dave Warner officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Immediately following the burial, Engage Newark Church is holding a celebration of life dinner at the ballroom of 31West Church St.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.   Olive was born in Newark, Ohio on August 3, 2016 to Timothy Earl and Chrystina M. (Deloof) Tharp.  She passed away suddenly at Licking Memorial Hospital on February 8, 2020.   In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Vera Tharp; maternal grandparents, Bonny and Charles McIntire; paternal grandmother, Margo Mauldin; paternal grandfather, Jeff Tharp; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Olive is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Craig Deloof; and paternal grandfather, Max Mauldin.   “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18   Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Olive to Nationwide Children’s Hospital or to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Olive and her family.
