Oren Stanley Harris

Oren Stanley Harris, age 85, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. Oren was born March 3, 1933 in Newark, Ohio to the late Willis Forest and Miriam Marie (Turner) Harris. He was a 1951 graduate of Newark High School and had been formerly employed by the Roper Corp. and had also worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary K. (Smith) Harris, whom he married August 17, 1952; three children, Willis Edwin (Judy) Harris of Hebron, Miriam Louise (Anthony) Scafidi of Laurel, Maryland, and Douglas Oren (Connie) Harris of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.At his request, there will be no service or visitation observed.
