Ovell Jones

Ovell K. Jones, 89, of Thornville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family early Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Ovell was born May 20, 1927 in Rupert, West Virginia, the son of the late Pearl and Beulah Jones. He served honorably in the US Army during WWII. He retired from Rockwell International, Heath in 1983 after thirty years of service. He enjoyed hunting and watching football.He is survived by his loving family: Wife Viola( of 63 years), children Sharon (Mike) Mills, Carrie (Randy) Geiger, Mary (Mike) Seipel, Mike (Jana) Jones and Bob Jones; grandchildren Steve (Lee) Getman, Lori (Mike) Slivanya, Matt Jones, Christa ( Chad) Day; great-grandchildren Amanda, Brianna, Stephen, Matthew and Hannah; brother Kenos (Sylvia) Jones, sister-in-law Jenny Jones and half-brother and half-sister Joe and Twila Jones.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Michael Getman, 3 brothers and 1 sister.The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, burial with full Military Honors by the Licking Co. Veterans Alliance will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown.The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
