"Pat" Patricia Olive Gentile

A funeral service celebrating the life of Patricia Olive “Pat” Gentile, age 87, of Thornville, will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.

Pat was born May 11, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to the late George Albert and Olive Marie (Mower) Palmer. She passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was an accountant with the federal government and retired from DCSC in Columbus. She raised show dogs including Yorkshire Terriers and White West Highland Terriers. Pat enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, doing needlepoint, as well as other arts and crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Edward “Ed” Gentile, whom she married January 3, 1976; son, Joseph P. (Lynn) Lofink, Jr. of Thornville; daughters, Michele D. (Ronald) Gray of Newark, Linda (Marty) Savage of Thornville and Kathleen A. Ryder (fiancé Richard Holness) of Edgewood, New Mexico; grandchildren, Michael  Beish (fiancée Angie Perry), Amber (Scott) Phillips, Josara Lofink (Michael Sidwell), Jason (Brittany) Gray, Justin Gray, Jennifer (Brandon) Wygle, Ben (Jessica) Savage, Julian (Tasia) Savage, and Alex (Shannon) Savage; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild on the way; and a sister, Carol Cencic of Elizabeth, Colorado.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Roger Ryder.
