A funeral service, celebrating the life of Patricia Ann Patty Garey, 70, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the chapel of The Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in the Millersport Cemetery.Patty died peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2016 following an extended illness. She was born in Columbus on May 17, 1946 the daughter of the late Paul E and Pauline L. (Armstrong) Huston. Patty was employed by Anchor Hocking as a glass selector for 17 years. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Buckeye Lake, loved the home shopping network and watching OSU Football, NASCAR, and the World Series. She also enjoyed going to Wheeling Downs to watch the dog races.She is survived by her loving family: daughters Heidi Thompson of Millersport, Robyn and Amanda Wright of Heath; sisters Pamela and Paula of Thornville; her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was also good friends with Sandy and Debbie Wright.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Archie Garey in March 2015, a son-in-law Brian Thompson, brother-in-law George Mattis and a granddaughter Monica Wright.Friends may call at the Funeral Home, 56 S Main Street in Thornville on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.The family wishes to thank the caregivers at FairHoPe Hospice especially Katie and Tammy for their compassionate care of Patty.
