Patricia Sue Birney

Funeral Services, celebrating the life of Patricia Sue Birney, 68, of Pataskala, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville, with Pastor Nikki Baker as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Pataskala Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Patricia passed away on Wednesday morning, September 15, 2021 in Columbus following an extended illness. She was born April 10, 1953 in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Robert and Irma (Wells) Stewart. Patricia was a graduate of Marietta School of Nursing and worked for many years as a L.P.N. She was a member of the Pataskala United Methodist Church and was a former 4-H advisor with the Paws and Patches 4-H club. For many years, she enjoyed being a hot air balloon chaser for the Balloon Masters of Ohio. She is survived by her loving family: her husband James Birney, whom she married on January 16, 1977, her daughters Shannon (Tony) Miller, Sarah (Jamison) Ables; her grandchildren Cassandra and Joann Sheley and Cooper Ables; sister-in-law Bonnie (Mrs. Richard) Birney; a niece Caren (Eric) Conkey and nephew Eric ( Jemimah) Birney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Richard Birney and a nephew Andrew Birney. The family prefers that memorial contributions in her memory be directed to Pataskala United Methodist Church.
