Patricia Lynn Longwell

September 16, 1947 — November 23, 2023

Patricia Lynn Longwell, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, November 23rd. She is preceded in death by her mother Mary Elizabeth "Betty" King, father Ernest King Sr., brother Deanie, sisters Betty Louise and Vicki, and daughter April Lynn. Patricia is survived by her husband Darius (Dean) Longwell; son Scott (Tiffany) Rucker; stepson Jamie (Cheryl) Longwell and stepdaughter Shauna (Jeff) Morris; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Butch (Carol) and Bob (Loretta) King; sister Sandra Smith as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Patricia attended South High school, raised her children, cleaned houses for a living, later worked at Coax Communication and for many years at US Dental. Patricia loved most all animals, especially her cats. Over the years she was particularly fond of cats with the names “Pumpkin”, “Pandy”, “Chi-Chi” (Cheech for short), “Mr. Bud” and “Piggy.” Patricia always loved her “grand dogs.” From her husband Dean: “Patricia and I were married May 15th, 1987. She was my radiant light in a broken world. Today as I smile about the good thoughts of my sweet Patricia, the pain in my heart is still so strong as I am sure it always will be. So as I walk the journey for the rest of my life, Patricia will always be in my heart, mind and soul pushing me to go on with that same smile and laughter that started our life’s journey 38yrs ago.” Patricia was baptized one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in September of 1969. She instilled in her children a love for Jehovah God. Something that drew her closer to Jehovah was the promise in the Bible that His purpose for the earth had not changed and it would be restored to perfect conditions someday, free from sickness and death. Patricia most likely would have shared the scripture found at Rev 21:3,4 which talks about this promise with her family and those she met. She also had a firm belief in the resurrection that Jesus Christ talked about in John 5:28,29 knowing she would be able to see and embrace her daughter April again. Now we can attribute those two scriptures to Patricia as well. A memorial for Patricia will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 2 pm. You can attend in person at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1555 College Ave, Columbus OH 43209-2885.
