Patricia Lee Smith

Patricia Smith passed away peacefully at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) on Tuesday, January 16, 2023 after an unexpected injury. She was predeceased by her father Frederick Kiefer and mother Ethel Shellaby.

Patricia is survived by her husband Raymond “Joe” Smith; daughter, Julie Whitney; sons, James “Jimmy” (Kelly) Smith and Raymond “Joey” Smith; grandchildren, Bella, Dakota, and Finn. Also, a very large extended family, her adopted children and their family, and Lioness family.

Patricia was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Patricia was a retired nurse and enjoyed spending time with her patients. She always ensured her patients received gifts on the holidays.

Patricia loved spending time with her husband and grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time at Malabar Farm State Park, the place her husband’s family farmed under Louis Bromfield. When she was not spending time with family, she enjoyed watching TV and reading books.

The family has arranged for a private service and burial.  Patricia will be buried at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville.
