A Memorial Service, celebrating the life of Patricia “Pat” Thorn Thompson, 89, of Heath, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with The Rev. Kathryn Clausen as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 :00 pm at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Pat passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at her home with family at her side. She was born in Wendel, WV, on June 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Earle Eugene and Mary Joseph (Doyle) Thorn.

Pat was a hard worker who worked as a billing supervisor at Johns Manville Holophane in Newark for thirty years. In her retirement, she owned and operated Creative Learning Materials in downtown Newark for 11 years. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church for many years, serving as church treasurer and a member of the ECW. In recent years, she attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Pickerington with her family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with Gabriel, her grandson, and worked with her husband Herbert in the POW organization in Licking County for many years.

Pat is survived by her daughter Karen (David) Shoemaker of Etna and their son Gabriel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Herbert Thompson, who died in 2002; and her brother Eugene Thorn.

Pat will be laid to rest with her husband Herb in the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
