Paul William Bailey

A memorial service celebrating the life of Paul William Bailey, age 69, of Newark, will be held at 2:00 p.m on Saturday, July 10, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Paul was born February 24, 1952 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Paul was a 1971 graduate of Newark High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a caring and loving husband to his wife Janet for 45 years. Paul was a follower and loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Paul loved working on his family tree on both sides of the family where he spent countless hours on research.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Marie (Gambill) Bailey; daughters, Christina Marie (Gambill) Wright and Theresa Lyn (Gambill) Bailey; son, Donald Douglas Gambill; sisters, Linda Mae (Bailey) Knight and Patricia JoAnn (Bailey) Taylor; and brothers, Robert Eugene Bailey, Joseph William Bailey and David Lee Bailey; several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his infant son, Andrew David Bailey; father, Frank Paul Bailey; mother, Anna Elizabeth (Boyer) Bailey; brothers, Charles Eugene Boyer and Henry Edward Bailey; and a daughter, Donna Jeanette (Gambill) Adams.
