Paul Daniel Casto

A funeral service celebrating the life of Paul Daniel Casto, 71, of Millersport, will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Etna United Methodist Church, with Pastor Steve Swisher officiating.  Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery, with military honors observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.  Visitation will be held at the church, 500 Pike Street SW, Etna, Ohio, on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Paul was born in Charleston, WV on April 10, 1947 to the late Otis A. and Frances “Em” (Jones) Casto.  He passed away at his residence on December 8, 2018, while surrounded by his family. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed on the DMZ in Korea. Prior to retirement, he was a union insulator with the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers #44-50 for 35 years.  He attended the Etna United Methodist Church; was a licensed minister with the American Baptist Church; was a member of the VFW in Baltimore; Licking County Land of Legend Antique Tractor Club; and was a former Kirkersville Village Council member.  He enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, singing southern gospel and hunting.  He was also a history buff, and an avid reader.  Most important in his life was the relationship he had with Christ and the time he spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Connie S. (Martin) Casto, whom he married November 18, 2007; children, Paula S. (Philip) Lovejoy and Adam B. (Patty) Casto; step-children, Holly (Ryan) Holton and Lora (Bob) Schoonover; brothers and sisters, Casey (Judy) Casto, Donna (Kenny) Wimer, Lynn (George) Snider, Tom (Shelley) Casto, Gayle Musick, Patty (Terry) Johnson and Steve (Kim) Casto; grandchildren, Frances Lovejoy, Grayce (Tanner) Rust, Luke Lovejoy and Stephanie (Ethan) Hardesty; step grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Holton and Madelynn and Mason Schoonover; and numerous great-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Sue (Rice) Casto; and brother, David A. Casto.
