Paul Eugene Flowers

Paul Eugene Flowers, age 86, of Newark, passed away on August 13, 2018 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Paul was born August 29, 1931 in Newark, Ohio to the late Ralph Lee and Helen (Hamm) Flowers.

A 1950 graduate of Newark High School, Paul was All State for NHS in 1948 for football (T.E.). He was inducted into the NHS Hall of Fame with the Class of 2007. Paul retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas Tech Center where he had been employed for over 25 years. He was a member of the Newark Eagles and enjoyed fishing, gardening and taking care of his yard. He was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes.

He is survived by four children, Michael Flowers, Brenda (David) Faust, Paul J. “Joe” Flowers (fiancée Becky Summers) and Steve (Ingrit) Flowers; nine grandchildren, Crystal (Richard) Blackwell, Tricia (Yohance) Thompson, Paul (Wendy) Flowers, Tracey, Joe, Leslie, Summer, Nathan and Steven Flowers; nine great-grandchildren; and nephews, Jeff (Jayne) Flowers and Rick (Carol) Flowers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Eileen (Armstrong) Flowers; and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and June Flowers.

At his request, no service will be observed. Private inurnment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society.
