Paul R. Thompson, Sr.

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Paul R. Thompson, Sr., 91, of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Hebron home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Buckeye Lake VFW. A private burial will be held at Fairmount Cemetery.Paul was born on in Gladys, Kentucky on June 28, 1924 to the late Balton and Thelma (Webb) Thompson. He passed away at his residence on November 15, 2015 while surrounded by his loving family.Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was a construction worker for over 40 years. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake VFW. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his friends at Bobs Bar in Buckeye Lake, where he would Roll The Dice.Survivors include six sons, Keith (Naomi) Hatfield, Mike Hatfield, Paul Thompson, Jr., Tim (Michele) Thompson, Kenny Thompson and Kevin (Vicki) Thompson; three daughters, Sharon Haasze, Debbie (Ken) Cartt and Elizabeth Libby (Kenny) Smith; his loving pet, Betsy; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Joanne (Weir) Thompson in 2011, whom he married on September 6, 1958; and sister, Rosemary Wagner.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Paul to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.Family will receive friends at the funeral home, 108 N.
