Paul Anthony Spears

A memorial service celebrating the life of Paul Anthony Spears, 65, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Church of God, 675 N. Cedar Street, Newark. Paul passed away on December 7, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Newark, Ohio on April 15, 1956 to the late David E. and Carol Sue (Pettibone) Spears. Survivors include his siblings, Clara L. (Jim) Crace, Carol L. Spears, Karen S. Spears, Sharon L. Spears, Lisa J. (Kurt) Kopp, Tina M. (John) Mortimer, and Robert E. Shaw, Jr., all of Newark, David E. Spears Jr, of Canton, Ohio, Joseph A. Schotta of Wisconsin, and Jason Rutherford of Columbus, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Samatha J. Nethers, Jeffrey G. Shaw and John E. Spears. Paul enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, comic books and TV guides. He also loved listening to music and had a large record collection. Most important was the love he had for his family, telling them often when he spoke with them. He worked at Goodwill and the bus garage in his younger years.
