A homegoing memorial service celebrating the life of Paulette M. Evans, age 67, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church, 383 Washington Street in Newark.Paulette was born October 23, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Clarence and Queen (Thompson) Cabiness. She passed away on January 23, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).Prior to retirement, Paulette was a data entry clerk with the U.S. Government and was also a culinary artisan with Denison University for many years. She was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoyed cooking for church functions and mercy meals. She was a member of the Patchwork Dreams Quilting Guild, enjoyed sewing, Bingo, going to Walmart and Joann Fabric. Paulette was a very caring and giving person. Not only was she an awesome mom to her own children, she was also known as mom to many other neighborhood children and especially enjoyed feeding them.Survivors include her loving children, James Evans, Fatina Evans, Oscar Evans, Jr. and Ashford (Miranda) Evans; siblings, Rudy Cabiness, Loveta Parks, Clarence (Judy) Cabiness, Jr., Kathleen Cabiness and Clifford Cabiness; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Horace Campbell; her bad girl club, Brenda, Alice, Jenny, Sharon and Judy; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
