Pauline M. "Polly" Barch

A funeral service celebrating the life of Pauline M. Polly Barch, age 92, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Rev. George Winston officiating. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Pauline was born September 4, 1924 in Newark, Ohio to the late Carl Samuel and Sarah Ann (Clark) Brown. She passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). A Veteran of the United States Army Womens Army Corps (WAC), Pauline faithfully served her country during World War II from September of 1944-April of 1946. She was a homemaker and owner of Triplex Machine and Design in Newark. Pauline was an active member of many organizations including the Eagles Auxiliary #387, American Legion Post #85, Moose Lodge #499, Thornville Amvets #51, VFW #1060, the Womens Memorial, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Druids. Polly enjoyed music, dancing, playing the slots and was an avid Euchre player. She is survived by three children, Larry (Kathy) Barch of Pataskala, Charlotte (Rod) McPeek of Newark and Douglas (Cindy) Barch of Bloomington, Illinois; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Zeraline Mickey Hoffer of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Barch, whom she married April 16, 1946 and who passed away on September 3, 1974; and by four brothers and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #85, 85 South 6th Street, Newark, OH 43055. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Pauline and her family.
