Payton L. Anderson

A memorial service celebrating the life of Payton L. Anderson, 20, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark.  Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Payton was born in Newark, Ohio on January 27, 1999 to Emily A. (Hernandez) Bethards and Justen Anderson.  He passed away in Newark on January 25, 2020. Payton worked at the Cherry Valley Hotel.  He enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts, and also enjoyed playing the clarinet in his high school band.  He was extremely smart, talented, sweet spirited, loving and well-liked.  He had an outgoing personality, would help anyone in need and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Emily and David “Brad” Bethards; father, Justen Anderson; brother, Bradley “Gunnar” Bethards; maternal grandparents, Jose’ and Cindy Hernandez; paternal grandfather, Randy Anderson and his significant other, Terra Blake; paternal grandmother, Gayle Lane; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Payton and his family.   He was extremely smart, talented, sweet spirited, loving and well liked.
