Peggy Yvonne (Brush) Hawkins

Peggy Yvonne (Brush) Hawkins, age 73, a lifelong resident of Modesto, California, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center in Newark, Ohio (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) following a brief illness. Peggy was born May 3, 1945 in Modesto, California to the late Charles Franklin and Niva Edith (Hefley) Brush.

Peggy was employed with Kraft General Foods for 35 years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Modesto and enjoyed camping and loved her dog, Tootie.

She is survived by a son, Charles Edward (Dee) Brush of Heath, Ohio; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ronald Brush of Turlock, California; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack “Pete” Hawkins.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date in California.
