Phil faught a strong fight against cancer until he couldn't.

Phil graduated from Columbus North High in 1962.  In 1971 he was hired by the Columbus (Ohio) Police Department as a patrol officer. Moving up the ranks he retired in 1998 as a Detective in the Crime Scene Search Unit.

Phil is predeceased by his Mom Iris Eddy and his sister Iris (Richard) Pierce, and brother-in-law Larry Beetham. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years Nancy (Beetham) Eddy, his son Phil J. (Chris) Eddy, granddaughters Samantha Carpenter and Sabrina Eddy, Sisters-in-law Phoebe (Bud) Wright and Mary (Michael) Bauer and his nieces and nephrews.

Phil loved to watch Nascar races on TV in his recliner with his dog, Pup.

Phil lived a long and full life. He loved fast cars, watching them and fixing them. He loved trucks, the older the better. He loved animals and kind people.

The family wishes to thank Hoskinson funeral and cremation service and Altercare rehabilitation both in Thornville ohio for their warm and loving care of both Philip and Nancy.

Phil will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.

Phil loved and was loved. It's the best you can do in life.
