Phillip Gregory "Greg" Asselin

Phillip Gregory “Greg” Asselin, age 59, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Greg was born November 5, 1959 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Joseph Robert and Joyce Arlene (Loop) Asselin.

Greg was a 1978 graduate of Heath High School and then entered the United States Army where he served for three years. Greg was currently employed in maintenance at Walmart. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, bowling, boating and enjoyed playing Coin Master. He was very involved in softball and played for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sharon Lynn (Kirkpatrick) Asselin, whom he married June 12, 1987; three children, Meme Asselin of Newark, Shawn Kirkpatrick and Linda Kirkpatrick, both of Zanesville; grandchildren, Joshua Perkins, Trevor Kirkpatrick, Connor Kirkpatrick, Tommy Perkins-Asselin, Amber Kirkpatrick and Karsor Kirkpatrick; sisters, Tammy Asselin-Eischen of Toledo and Tanya Asselin of Newark; several nieces and nephews; uncle, Mike Asselin; aunt, Michelle Mullins; and cousin, Dawn Binckley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Asselin.
