A funeral service, celebrating the life of Phyllis J. Kay, 72, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the chapel of The HEBRON home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Gary Kirk as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery. Phyllis died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, in Columbus following an extended illness. She was born in Greenbriar County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Bessie Flint Burns. She was a long time employee of South West Licking School Systems, retiring in 2011. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Community Church in Columbus. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons David (Traci) Kay of Buckeye Lake, Daniel (Diane) Kay of Fairfield, PA., step-children George Kay of Homosassa FL, and Pam (Thomas) Bartolomucci of Thornville; two grandchildren Morgan and Madison; her sister Virginia Roberts of Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Kay in 2012, her three brothers Alfred, Marshall and Harry Burns and her sister Jean Kisamore. Friends may call two hours prior to the services on Saturday, from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon at the HEBRON home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 108 N 7th Street, Hebron. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Alzheimers Association of Central Ohio in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
