Ralph Eldon Herriott, 97, of Kirkersville, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2012, following an extended illness. He was born December 29, 1914, in Delaware County, the son of the late Scott Hugh and Hazel (Manley) Herriott.He owned and operated the Blacklick Coal and Feed Mill for over 40 years, and following retirement owned the Kirkersville Greenhouse for several years. An active member of the Kirkersville community, Ralph was President of the Kirkersville Cemetery Association Board of Trustees, was also cemetery sexton for many years, was a member of the Kirkersville United Methodist Church and a former church trustee.Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Ann (Langel) Herriott on February 11, 2007. He is survived by his son Richard (Faye) Herriott of Worthington, his sisters , Martha Lloyd and Joan (Layton) Feiber of Columbus, his brother Robert Warrren Herriott of Reynoldsburg, sister-in-law Irene Godfrey of Reynoldsburg, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; along with his long- time friends Owen Ramsey & Ish Skaggs, friend and caregiver Lisa Ware.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Goldie Magley, and his brothers Walter, Donald and infant brother Harold.The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at The Hoskinson Funeral Home, 185 E Main St. in Kirkersville, where funeral services celebrating his life will be conducted on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Kirkersville United Methodist Church, PO Box 1, Kirkersville, Ohio 43033.
