Ralph Bruce Pickering

    A funeral service celebrating the life of Ralph “Bruce” Pickering, 75, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Tri-Village Christian Church, 7509 E. Broad Street, Pataskala, with Pastor Paul Snoddy officiating.  Burial will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tri-Village Christian Church in Pataskala. Bruce was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 25, 1943 to the late Ralph Abraham and Wanda Lee (Lucas) Pickering.  He passed away at Altercare Newark North on November 10, 2018. Prior to retirement, Bruce was a banker and bank manager for most of his career.  He also worked as an insurance agent for Western-Southern Insurance Company. He was a member of Tri-Village Christian Church.  He was an avid sports fan, following the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.  He enjoyed his mornings with coffee, meeting with friends at Tim Hortons.  He also loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his sons, Brian Pickering, Brad (Patti) Pickering and Brent (Sarah) Pickering; grandchildren, Luke and Mallory Pickering, Cate and Lauren Pickering and Kallie and Mia Pickering; step grandchildren, Miya, Alissa and Gavin; niece, Staci Worstell Palmer; brother-in-law, Ronald (Donna) Worstell; and sister-in-law, Stephanie Worstell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue (Worstell) Pickering in 2016; and brother-in-law, Donald Worstell. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bruce to Tri-Village Christian Church.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
