Randi, as she has been affectionately called, was born on April 26th, 1950 in Rushville, Indiana to Donald Foulks and Miriam Foulks (McCafferty). She grew up the daughter of two teachers on a small family farm in Fairfield County, Ohio, where she attended Lancaster High School (Class of 68), and from where she graduated with honors. Her early aspirations of being an entomologist were waylaid with the arrival of her first child. As a result, her life became immersed in raising her children, caring for her home and pets, and growing in her faith in God. As a single parent, Randi found her way into the banking and manufacturing industries, where she excelled at her positions at Bank of North Hardin, Radcliff, Kentucky, Ralston Purina Cereal Plant Lancaster, Ohio, and both Park National and Commodore banks in Kirkersville and Millersport, Ohio prior to her retirement. Randi had many natural talents, and was known to be a phenomenal cake maker and decorator, ceramics teacher, and favorite summer bible camp counselor for the youth at First Community Church. Randi's unwavering love for her church family was paramount in her life and she was an integral member of the Hosanna Praise Band, a participant in the Mystery Drama Dinners presented by the church, and many bible studies over the years. She loved being on or near the water, and spent many of her favorite life moments along the shores of Lake Erie and upon the warm, sandy beaches of Florida and Hawaii. Randi enjoyed an active lifestyle with her husband, John, and together, they bicycled, hiked, golfed, fished, and traveled during their Golden Years. Randi was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Miriam and Herbert R. "Dick" Hansley, and her father, Donald Foulks of Lancaster, Ohio. Randi is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, John Howard Woolard (75) of Millersport, Ohio; daughters and son-in-law, Jodi L. Smith of Lancaster, and Nyla and Harold"Trig" Marvin of Lexington, Kentucky, and Chris and Christina Woolard of Westerville. Randi is also survived by her brother, Daren Foulks (76) of Groveport and Terri L. Mills (72) of Lancaster. Randi has many beloved nieces and nephews and cousins in the Fairfield County area, as well. More than anything, Randi found great joy in being a lovingly involved grandmother and she leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren that were the light of her heart. Her grandchildren include, Hayley & Ryan Morgan (Nicholasville, Ky), Brandalin & J.J. Tipton (Jacksonville, NC), Trystyn Tyla Duck (Lancaster), Nick, Luke, and Kate Woolard of Westerville, and Braig & Abby Sakura of Logan, Ohio. Randi's great-grandchildren, whom she was taken from way too soon, include Brooklyn, Myles and Hudson Morgan, Noah and Ford Tipton, and Joseph Welch and Paislee Jo Lynn Duck. Perennial plants and flowers are preferred, but in lieu of such, donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org or FairHope Hospice & Palliative Care at giving@fairhopehospice.org would be sincerely appreciated by Randi's family. Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Randi and her family.
