Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Randy was born March 20, 1954 in Newark, Ohio to the late Dale William and Eva Frances (Buell) Hottinger. He passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Newark Care and Rehabilitation Center. Randy was a 1973 graduate of Sheridan High School. He worked in construction and in the oil fields in Texas. Although he was a quadriplegic for many years due to a car accident, Randys outlook was always optimistic and his legacy was that he touched so many lives. Randy was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and enjoyed watching professional football, the History channel and the news. Randys family loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed by his brother, Dale T. (Penny) Hottinger of Newark; brother-in-law, Duane Cline of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Hottinger; a sister, Nancy Cline; and his step-mother, Nadine (Hager) Hottinger. A special thanks for the excellent care given to Randy over the years by the staff of Newark Healthcare Centre, who became his extended family. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Randy and his family.
