Randy Steven Ray

A funeral service celebrating the life of Randy Steven Ray, age 63, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery.Randy was born October 24, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Rodney K. and Vera Jeanne (Lemon) Ray. He passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).A 1970 graduate of Granville High School, Randy attended COTC for two years. He had been employed in construction and worked in computer aided design for East Ohio Machinery and Sidwell Brothers. Randy loved to fish and work on anything mechanical, especially antique cars and tractors.He is survived by his wife, Jackie Lynn (OBryant) Ray; son, Jason (Jessica) Santavicca of Sugar Creek; daughters, Amanda (Steve) Morris of Bremen, Jennifer Ray of Zanesville and Shawn Ray of the United States Marine Corps; six grandchildren, Kristian Stocksdale, Caleb Stocksdale, Kiersten Santavicca, Brantley Santavicca, Ava Morris and Randy Morris; brothers, Rod Ray and Jeff Ray, both of Newark; niece, Sally Lawrence of Heath; nephews, Brandon Ray of Utica and Charlie Ray of Heath; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil Arthur and Gladys (Coffee) OBryant of Williamsburg; sister-in-law, Vickie OBryant of Cincinnati; and special friends, Jerry and Linda Bero of Newark.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Waylon Morris.Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Childrens Hospital Burn Unit, c/o Nationwide Childrens Hospital Foundation, PO Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216-6810.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Ray family.
