Raymond C. “Ray” Vanoster, 62, of Hebron, passed away on Saturday December 4, 2021 at Tuscany Gardens Nursing Home in Pataskala, under the care of Hospice of Central Ohio, with his mother and family by his side. He fought a long hard battle with cancer for seven years. Ray was born in England on May 13, 1959, the son of Sheila (Ray) Acord and the late William “Bill” Vanoster. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Newark VFW Post # 1060; he enjoyed fishing and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Sheila Acord; daughter, Le’She Vanoster; grandsons, Riley Medina and Dalton Langbeen; brother, Jay (Judy) Vanoster; and several aunts, uncles and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Vanoster; brother, Rick Vanoster; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Virgene Ray; paternal grandparents, Charles Vanoster and Luada Parker. Private services will be held for the family at a later date. In keeping with Ray’s wishes, he will be cremated and buried beside his brother in Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown, with military honors observed by the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance.
