Rebecca Sue Lavery

A memorial service celebrating the life of Rebecca Sue Becky Lavery, age 66, of Newark, will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Wilson Cemetery. Becky was born November 27, 1950 in Newark, Ohio to the late William R. Lavery, Sr. and Helen Louise (Hoffer) Lavery. She passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at her home. Becky was a 1969 graduate of Newark High School. She retired from THK and had also been employed with StructureLite. She was a member of the Newark Eagles and enjoyed riding motorcycles, NASCAR, gardening, spending time with her family and going to Lake Erie on fishing trips with her dad. Becky was a very giving person and was always known to help anyone in need. She is survived by her fianc, Larry Thomas of Newark; sons, Larry R. (Abby) Thomas and Corey Thomas, all of Newark; daughter, Tara Thomas of Newark; grandchildren, Ignatius J. Thomas and Kinley Thomas; brothers, William R. Lavery, Jr. of Heath and Fred Lee (Betty) Lavery of Newark; nieces, Tammy Lavery of Milton, West Virginia and Melissa Lavery of Heath; nephew, William L. (Carolina) Lavery of Heath; great-nephews, Hudson and Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Allen Lavery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Becky and her family.
