Reola D. Miracle

A memorial service celebrating the life of Reola D. Miracle, age 88, of Newark, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, at First United Methodist Church in Newark with Pastor Bruce Dickerson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church, 88 North Fifth Street in Newark.

Reola was born February 7, 1931 in Newark, Ohio to the late Herman T. and Mary (Hobbs) Brown. She passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Inn at SharonBrooke.

Reola was a cosmetologist and was one of the three B’s in the 3B School of Beauty as part-owner. She and her husband, Roy, owned and operated Miracle’s Ice Cream Parlor for ten years followed by Miracle’s Remodeling for over 30 years. She was an active member for over 65 years of the First United Methodist Church in Newark where she cooked many delicious dinners and was in charge of the welcome center. She and her husband went on multiple mission trips with the youth of the church each year where they would help build and remodel homes. She enjoyed league bowling, was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed the outdoors and bird watching.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Juli A. Miracle-Gravely (Karl) of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. Miracle (Mary Lynn) of Upper Arlington; step-grandchildren, Glenn and Alexa; a sister, Kay Brown Palmer (John) of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy E. Miracle, whom she married March 21, 1954 and who passed away on July 1, 2011; and by two sisters, Delores Amos and Diana Farris; and a brother, Herman Eugene Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
