Rev. Bobbie J. Isaacs

A going home celebration of the life of Rev. Bobbie J. Isaacs, age 84, of Thornville, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24,at the Bible Temple of God, 113 Madison Avenue, Newark, with Pastor Steve Robinson and Brother Dave Lombardi officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Rev. Isaacs was born August 1, 1929 in Munday, Texas to the late Bert T. and Lottie Esther (LeFever) Crouch. She passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Autumn at the Lake in Thornville.Rev. Isaacs received a Bachelor of Theology degree from the Life Bible College in Los Angeles, California. Following her graduation, Rev. Isaacs and her husband, the Rev. Hugh D. Isaacs, pioneered and pastored many churches throughout the United States. In 1964, they came to Canton, Ohio and were assistant pastors at Trinity Gospel Temple. In the late 60s, they came to Heath and started and pastored the Heath Four Square Church until 1974. Over the next ten years, they continued to pastor and dedicate their service at Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton as well as several other churches. Following the death of her husband, Rev. Isaacs returned to Canton and was an integral part of the ministry of Trinity Gospel Temple for the next 28 years. She retired to Thornville to be with her children and grandchildren.A devout Christian, Rev. Isaacs always put God first and encouraged others to do so. She dedicated her life to the church and her family. She enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist and continued to be a licensed minister with the Open Bible Standard Churches.She is survived by three children, Jeffrey Allen (Sandra) Isaacs of Waterloo, IA, Carol Higgins and Timothy J. Isaacs, both of Thornville; grandchildren, Kerri Neale of New Albany, Kelly (Sly) Wallen of Newark, Kristen Higgins of Hebron and Zachary (Sherrell) Isaacs of Alliance; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Summer; a sister, Meralene (Brother David) Lombardi of Canton; a special cousin, Jean Capps of Los Angeles, CA; many extended family members and a host of friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Hugh D. Isaacs, whom she married November 2, 1949 and who passed away on August 1, 1984; a daughter, Leeann Isaacs; a son, Benjamin Lee Isaacs; and a son-in-law, Phillip Rodney Higgins, Jr.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Isaacs family.
