Rev. Delana R. Poole

Rev. Delana R. Poole, a beloved member of the Hebron, Ohio community, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Friday, March 21st, 2025, at the age of 89. Delana was born on April 2nd, 1935, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, to Martin Simon and Georgie Poole. He later settled in Hebron, Ohio, where he made a lasting impact on his community.

Delana was a dedicated and hardworking individual, spending over 40 years as a foreman at U.S. Steel. In his younger years, he served with honor in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His dedication extended beyond his professional life, as he was a former member of the Nothing But Church in Pataskala and a proud member of Laborer Union #423.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rev. Linda Poole, with whom he shared a beautiful life, and siblings, Edith, Dennis, Marvin, and Donnie.

Delana's legacy continues through his son, Martin Poole, and daughters, Linda Poole and Dovey Poole. He was a cherished grandfather to Delano, Martin II, Hannah, and Matthew. His family tree also includes his nephews, Joey Poole and Charlie Poole, nieces Georgia Marcum and Rose Baumgardt, and numerous other special nieces, nephews, and friends. A first cousin, Shirley Green, also survives him.

Delana was a man who loved God and found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing, hunting, and yearly family trips to Florida at Christmas. He was a devoted family man and provider, whose laughter and love will be forever missed.

To honor Delana's life and memory, visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service in Kirkersville, Ohio. A funeral service will follow on Friday, March 28th, 2025, at 11:00 am, also at Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Mike Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Delana's family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have been a source of strength and support during this difficult time. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to those he loved and the community he served.
