Richard D. Jones, age, 73, of Heath, passed away on June 8, 2016 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born in Newark on November 11, 1942 to the late William and Verna Marjorie (Weaver) Jones.Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he worked for TCI in Heath for many years and previously managed the Bayside Inn Resort in Treasure Island, Florida. Richard was a passionate musician, where he was a listed songwriter and recording artist. He started the band, Dick Jones and the DJs and two of his most well knows songs were Highway 101 and Angel Baby. He was a member of the Thornville AmVets; Newark Moose Lodge; Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge; and the Broadcast Music Inc.Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy H. (VanWinkle) Jones; children, Jay (Shawnna) Jones, Rodney Tabler and Anita Shaw; grandchildren, Nicholas Banko, Avery Jones, Peyton Jones, Sydney Jones, Matthew George, Michael George, Clay Rickets and Cody Ricketts. Great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Peyton, Addison and Parker George; brothers, Larry (Cathy) Jones and Roger (Marsha) jones; sister, Mary Lynn Naylor; loving dogs, Bootsie, Molly and Ripley; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Jones; daughters, Lynette Ricketts and Tammy Glascow; and brother, Woody Jones.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard to any animal rescue or animal humane society of your choice.At Richards request, there will not be any services held.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Richard and the Jones family.
